New Delhi: The final verdict in the trial of 26/11 prime accused Ajmal Kasab trial will be pronounced on February 21. Bombay High Court will pronounce judgement on confirmation of death penalty awarded to Kasab in 26/11 terror attack case and also on his appeal against conviction.
The judge noted that the compilation of judgement was taking time as there was a lot of paperwork involved.
Kasab, the sole terrorist caught during 26/11 attack has been sentenced to death but a confirmation on the same will now be made on February 21.
Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said that the judgement would be pronounced at 11 AM on February 21.
"There is a lot of paper work to be done on Kasab, which will take two more weeks. Kasab's judgement will come on February 21. Due to security reasons it will not be possible to bring Kasab to the Bombay high court. He will be present through a video link. The judgement hearing will happen at 11 AM. Kasab will remain at Arthur Road jail," said Nikam.
On January 7, arguments concluded in the case following which Justices Ranjana Desai and R V More reserved order and kept the matter for directions on Monday.
For the first time, a video conference link was put up in the Court for hearing appeals. Cameras were installed in court room no 49 to enable Kasab hear proceedings from jail.
