A collection of poems penned by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was released on his 82nd birthday.
New Delhi: A collection of poems penned by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was released on his 82nd birthday on Monday by Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.
"I am not a born poet but these poems reflect the state of society," said Vajpayee, who also read out some of the 35 poems from the collection.
"I expect him to write many more poems. His poetry has inspired me," said Shekhawat.
The book release function was attended by a large number Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including party Chief Rajnath Singh and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ki Chuni Hui Kavitaein (Selected poems by Atal Bihari Vajpayee) has been brought out by Prabhat Prakashan, New Delhi.
