He was questioned for several hours to corroborate what the representatives of the Emaar had earlier disclosed to the CBI.It is learnt that Acharya was questioned repeatedly as to why the stake of the APIIC was brought down from the earlier 26 percent to less than 1 percent. The move caused huge loss to the corporation. However, Acharya maintained that he only followed the instructions of then YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s government.Besides Acharya, a senior official of the mines department was also questioned about the granting of mines contract favouring a few companies that were indirectly related to YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. “The statements of various officials were recorded,” CBI joint director VV Lakshminarayana told reporters here on Friday.
