In a statement issued here, the secretariat said that the government disbanded the seven-member team led by DySP Muralidharan and asked the team to hand over the documents to the Vigilance SP. The decision followed the Central Government’s approval to prosecute government employees including IAS officials and former minister C V Padmarajan. The statement pointed out that the Justice Bhaskaran Nambiar Commission had recommended the prosecution of the guilty as there was loss worth Rs 75 crore in the construction of the plant. Compared to the amount paid to the French company by Yelehanka project in Karnataka, the Brahmapuram plant had to pay more amount for the same generators.
