THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: British Council, in association with Counterpoint, King’s India Institute, the Nehru Centre, London, and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), will conduct an online survey ‘Re-Imagine: India-UK cultural relations in the 21st century’. Professionals, policy makers, artists or students or just anyone who has a stake in the relationship can bring expertise and knowledge from their sector of work and convey their needs and expectations from this relationship by taking part in the online survey at www.reimagine.britishcouncil.org.in. The survey asks questions about the respondent, understanding what they do.It then seeks the respondent’s views about the nature of the relationship between India and the UK in the context of their work and education. One can choose to answer questions from areas that interest them. It goes on to ask their opinion on the relationship between India and the UK more broadly and then explores the person’s personal relationship with the UK and India and what has influenced and shaped it. Through Re-Imagine, which will comprise research and communication between the two countries through a series of programmes, there is a unique opportunity to seize the moment and re-imagine a mutually beneficial relationship that values the past, while seeking to define the future together, a press release said. The project is guided by discussions and consultations with stakeholders from core established institutions, universities, industries and new, emergent and youthful voices that will play decisive roles in the future of the relationship.Re-Imagine will bring together thinkers in an international conference in Delhi in November this year to look at the findings of all the research, including the analysis of the survey and how the relationship can develop in the years to come.
