Melbourne: Another Bruce Lee movie is about to hit the big screen soon, and this time it will star the legendary martial artist himself, even though he's been dead for 33 years.
Rob Cohen, who directed Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story starring Jason Scott Lee as the martial artist, in an interview to a magazine said that he would be bringing back Lee with “new, advanced digital technology” in ‘Rage and Fury’.
“(It’s) an entirely photo-realistic Bruce Lee with new, advanced digital technology. Digital Domain who did XXX and Stealth with me are on it big time," Cohen told Latino Review.
As for how audiences will get to hear Bruce Lee voicing his dialogues, well all his lines in the script are from one of his films, or one of his interviews.
According to the plot, Bruce Lee’s ghost appears to 15 year old Ethan Gunner whom he mentors in Jeet Kune Do.
Lee not only makes his appearance throughout the screenplay and with ILM magic, but Gunner only hears the martial artist as a voiceover and never directly.
Cohen further revealed that the film, which is in “the vfx development stage", will be the first to have a star being a “digital actor”.
“I am very excited about the challenge. We do have the rights to Bruce's films but the lines are all I am going to use," he said.
