At least fifteen passengers were injured on Thursday when a bus overturned and plunged into a roadside gorge at Viratnagar, police said.
The bus was on its way to Beawar from Delhi via Jaipur when the driver lost control over a turn and rammed the vehicle into a tree, following which it fell into a 15 feet deep gorge, they said.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals in Shahpura and Viratnagar, police said.
Due to traffic jam at the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway, the buses were being diverted through Shahpura-Alwar-Viratnagar, they said, adding that the driver did not recognise the road diversion which led to the
accident.
The driver and the conductor of the vehicle fled the from spot, police said.
