HYDERABAD: Vijay Sai Reddy, vicechairman of Jagati Publications Limited, appeared before CBI officials at their camp office at Dilkusha Guest House on the Raj Bhavan Road here on Tuesday and was grilled for a couple of hours in connection with investigation into the investments in YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s companies.
The grilling came a day after CBI officials had grilled Vadarevu and Nizampatnam Ports Industrial Corridor (Vanpic) MD Nimmagadda Prasad over Rs 500 cr money that allegedly went unaccounted in Vanpic land deals in Guntur and Prakasam districts and invested in Jagan’s companies. Vijay Sai Reddy has filed a petition in the Special CBI Court recently alleging harsh behaviour and threatening of witnesses by CBI interrogators in connection with Kadapa MP’s illegal assets case.
With some Vanpic representatives and a few revenue officials also appearing before the CBI on Tuesday, Sai Reddy had to wait, sitting alone and often talking on his mobile walking on the lawn. Sources said, Vijay Sai Reddy seemed annoyed by the long wait he had to make before the CBI interrogators called him in. And when he was finally grilled, he did not divulge any vital information to the interrogators, the sources said.
After filing a chargesheet in the Obulapuram mining case, the CBI has turned its focus back on Jagan’s case. During the initial phase of investigation, the agency seemed set to grill big investors in Jagan’s companies and other beneficiaries of the YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s regime. The CBI is also keen on grilling P Pratap Reddy, MD of Penna Cement Industries.
