CBSE announces Delhi, Chennai class X results
No marksheet will be issued from this year because of the introduction of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation.

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education on Tuesday announced the class X results of Delhi and Chennai region.

No marksheet will be issued from this year because of the introduction of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE).

The results reflect grades (A, B, C, D) in formative assessment (FA), summarative assessment(SA) and total for Class X.

The Board will issue certificate of CCE which will reflect grades for FA and SA for classes IX and X for scholastic areas as well as grades and descriptive indicators for co-scholastic areas, a CBSE statement said.

The results for Panchkula, Ajmer and Allahabad regions will be declared at 4 pm on Wednesday and results of Guwahati and Bhubaneswar regions will be declared on June 4 at 10 am. The dates for results of Patna region will be notified shortly, the statement said.

The response of students opting out of board exam and taking school-based exam had been very encouraging this year, the CBSE statement said.

Of the total 10.6 lakh candidates, only 4.6 lakh appeared for the board examination, implying that approximately 67 per cent of the students preferred the internal tests, which was one of the desirable goals of CCE, it said.

Even for the 4.6 lakh students, most of them were either studying in secondary schools or switching schools or board and therefore had to take the external exam compulsorily under CCE scheme, the release said.

The Board will conduct improvement of performance test from July 16. Regular candidates will have to route their requests through their respective head of institution.
