THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Denying reports that he has talked to R Balakrishna Pillai, who is undergoing a jail-term, over mobile phone, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said the law would take its own course and the investigation report on the same was awaited on Tuesday. Chandy said that as soon as the report came that Balakrishna Pillai had used his mobile phone while undergoing sentence, he had appointed a police official in the rank of ADGP to probe into the case.   “The ADGP will submit the report on Tuesday and an appropriate decision will be taken based on it,” the CM said.  Regarding the attack on a teacher at Valakam, Chandy said the teacher, undergoing treatment, was not cooperating with the police as a victim should.Statement of Pillai RecordedMeanwhile, Jail Chief Welfare Officer Kumaran has recorded the statement of former Minister R Balakrishna Pillai, who is in a specialist hospital on medical grounds while undergoing jail sentence.  Pillai, who was admitted to the ICU with high-blood pressure the other day, was shifted to the room after which the statement was recorded. Pillai had reportedly admitted that he had talked to the channel reporter “under a special mental state.”  He also averred that he was so reluctant to talk over phone but the reporter insisted to know some details regarding the attack on the teacher. He said that he used to speak over mobile phones even when he was a Minister. DGP: Probe on the Right TrackDGP Jacob Punnoose said that the probe in connection with the inhuman attack on the teacher at Valakam was on the right track. “There are some mismatch regarding the statement and the actual movements of the victim. We will probe all sides and the statement of the victim will also be recorded again,” he said.   The probe is being conducted by efficient officers and all possibilities will be examined, the DGP said. The police would submit an application to the Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate for the copy of the statement given by the victim to the Magistrate.
