'Chinnadana Neekosam' quick review: Been there, seen that
We expected more from director A Karunakaran, who has made enjoyable films like 'Darling', and 'Yuvakudu' before.

Film: 'Chinnadana Neekosam'

Director: A Karunakaran

Cast: Nithiin, Mishti Chakraborty, Nassar, Naresh, Sithara

Rating: 2.5/5

What we like: The story of 'Chinnadana Neekosam' begins promisingly. Nithiin is your average cool dude, whose parents will be more than happy if he finds a nice sweet girl for himself. Enter the fair beauty Nandini (Mishti Chakraborty), whom Nithiin rescues in a typical Knight In Shining Armour manner. They strike up a friendship, and Nithiin falls for Nandini. Soon, he realises that he's the only one who can help her get close to an elderly man (Nassar) and Nithiin uses this as a bait to get close to her. He's however shocked when he finds out Nandini's real intention. Add a little bit of family drama and a few clever witty lines, and you've got an enjoyable, if entirely predictable first half.

What we don't like: What we didn't enjoy in this film probably comes from our expectation of director A Karunakaran, who has made thoroughly enjoyable movies such as 'Darling', 'Tholi Prema' and 'Yuvakudu', among others. The characters aren't well-rounded and we rarely get to see the what they truly feel. Mishti Chakraborty is a disappointment, and music score by Anoop Rubens very average.

Bottom line: There's nothing in 'Chinnadana Neekosam' we haven't seen in other films before. Sure, there are some light-hearted moments, but we'd rather you enjoy the good weather and go for a drive, than catch this movie.
