City hospitals encourage health living

BANGALORE: On the occasion of World Heart Day, series of events were organised by various city hospitals on Thursday to spread awareness . While some hospitals initiated a walkathon campaign, others held heart screening camps.Marathahalli-based Yashomati Hospitals organised a walkathon to generate awareness about heart diseases and other associated risk factors. Dr Sadruddin Shariff, consultant cardiac surgeon and head, Yashomati Hospitals, presented an awareness talk on lifestyle and health of heart. A heart screening camp with four customised packages has also been organised at the hospital on the occasion.Narayana Hrudayalaya too organised a walkathon which witnessed around 500 participants including patients, doctors, hospital staff, children and adults. The walkathon was flagged off by Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, chairman, Narayana Hrudayalaya and started from city centre unit at the BDA complex in HSR layout.
