BELGAUM: Belgaum is expected to host state legislature session in the third week of January next year. The session will be the first in the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha being constructed here.District in-charge minister Umesh Katti said that the construction of the Soudha is expected to be over by the end of this year and the construction agency will hand over the structure before January 15. The estimated cost of the structure is Rs. 391 crore, he said. As rainfall was scanty this year, another list of drought-affected taluks would be announced.Katti also said that Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda will be visiting the district for the first time after becoming the CM. He will inspect the ongoing construction works of the Soudha and review development undertaken by the Belgaum zilla parishad.
