BANGALORE: Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah denied reports that the Congress party had decided to boycott the Assembly session starting June 2 summoned by the ruling BJP to get approval for the 2011-12 budget.After paying tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru on his death anniversary, Siddaramaiah informed on Friday that the issue over attending the session would be decided at a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) which would be convened by the party president soon.He, however, admitted that boycotting the session in protest against the continuance of Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah was an option, while terming media reports that the CLP had decided to boycott the session as untrue.The Congress leader averred that the Supreme Court's strictures passed against Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and the Speaker meant that the two have lost the moral ground to remain in office. "Yeddyurappa's statement that he will not be bothered if the Congress boycotts the session is undemocratic and exhibits his arrogance and his scant respect to democracy," he asserted.Recalling the contributions of the late premier Nehru as a freedom fighter and also as an administrator, the Congress leader, who was once with the JD(S), said: "Nehru promoted better leadership across the world. His policy of promoting a mixed economy laid the foundation for a modern and vibrant India."Union Minister for Labour and Employment Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Motamma and Congress leaders M V Rajashekharan and A K Krishnappa were among those spoke on the occasion.
