KOCHI: The police have collected the address and identity of the persons who hacked the online bank account of a doctor and transferred `13.5 lakh to 20 other accounts using duplicate SIM card two weeks ago. A police team led by Ernakulam central Circle Inspector D S Suneesh Babu reached Hyderabad and collected the details of the key person behind the phishing case.The police team would also visit eight other states this week and collect evidence. “We have got the whereabouts of one of the accused and are yet to confirm it. The private banks have handed all the details about the person. The investigation will be carried out with the assistance of the police of the respective states,” sources in the police said.“The phishing was planned and there are about nine to 12 persons involved in the case. Most of the persons are youngsters. We have sent the details of these people to the police of other states who will take the accused into custody,” the police official said.The police has requested the banks to provide video grabs of people who used the bank ATM. “Some of the banks said that they do not keep video records of their ATM centres, while some other said that their camera was not working. However, some are ready to hand over the images. It will help in the investigation,” the police official said.
