Criticised, Naidu loses his cool at party meet

HYDERABAD: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu lost his cool and asked what the senior leaders and those enjoying power were actually doing for the growth of the party. His outburst came after MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana Goud pointed out that Naidu, who had focused on development as chief minister, failed to build the party organisation as an opposition leader in the last eight years. Goud made these remarks at the party’s extended committee meeting held here on Friday. Goud said that the party had been concentrating on negative campaigning and highlighting corruption by Congress and YSRCP leaders. At the same time,   Naidu should also concentrate on building the party from the grass root level, the MLC suggested.Responding to this, Naidu told the party leaders that it had become a fashion to throw blame on him. Naidu wondered what the senior leaders in districts and those who had enjoyed political posts were actually doing to build up the party. With tempers cooling down a little later, Naidu said he would focus on  building the party up from the village level.
