THODUPUZHA: KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala on Monday said that the report prepared by the Supreme Court-appointed empowered committee was not fully against the state.The report has suggested for a new dam for the state, he said addressing meet the press organised by the Idukki Press Club.The government should move on the lines of building a new dam at Mullaperiyar,Chennithala said adding that he had a discussion with the chief minister in this regard.Chennithala said that unnecessary disputes should not be made out of the issue. The statement comes at the backdrop of Water Resources Minister P J Joseph making charges against Justice K T Thomas.None had tried to influence the report, he said.Chennithala said he do not oppose Justice Thomas but was againstthe stand taken by Tamil Nadu on the issue.With reference to the murder of T P Chandrasekharan, he said any amount of denial will not help the CPM to wash off its hand.The KPCC will organise evening meetings under the title of ‘Manishada’ at 140 mandalams on May 9 against the violence taking place in the northern parts in the State.
