Delhi-NCR Grapples with Dense Fog: Flight, Train Operations Disrupted Amid Near-Zero Visibility
The official Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Twitter handle reported very dense fog in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Northwest Rajasthan, and eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Delhi-NCR found itself blanketed in a dense layer of fog, reducing visibility to almost zero. This has resulted in multiple flights and train operations being affected in the Delhi-NCR region.

Delhi Airport on Wednesday issued an advisory, which read: “While landing and takeoffs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”

Footage from various locations in Delhi depicts crowds huddling around bonfires to ward off the cold. A resident in the Red Fort area highlighted the challenges faced by people, including delayed buses and a scarcity of public vehicles in certain areas due to the freezing weather, during an interview with news agency ANI.

Similar conditions were observed on Tuesday, with dense fog enveloping the national capital and extensive parts of North India, severely impacting visibility and causing disruptions in flight and train services.
