New Delhi: The accused in Mid Day journalist J Dey murder case, Jigna Vora will be produced in a Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court as her custody ends on Thursday.
Vora was arrested last week and was booked under several charges, including Sections 302 (murder), 120 (B) (conspiracy), 34 (acts done by several persons), 201 (giving false information) of the IPC, Sections 3, 25 and 27 of the Arms Act, Sections 37 (1) (A) (prohibiting public gathering of more than five persons), 135 (burning effigy of the central government) of the Bombay Police Act and Sections 3(1), 3(2), 3(4) (organised crime) of MCOCA.
Investigators are likely to seek an extension of her custody.
Vora is the eleventh accused held in the murder of the senior journalist who was killed on June 1 this year.
Vora was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch for conspiring, and aiding and abetting the murder of senior Mumbai journalist.
The Mumbai Crime Branch have named gangster Chhota Rajan as the mastermind of the murder.
Dey was shot dead outside his house at Powai in Mumbai on June 11, 2011.
