Actor Ranveer Singh says he wasn't initially convinced with his character in Vikramaditya Motwane's 'Lootera' and had denied to star in the movie. It was after he sat down with Motwane for script readings he grew confident that he can play the role of a con man in the upcoming movie, which also stars Sonakshi Sinha.
"I was not accepting 'Lootera's' character at first as it was nothing like me. But when I met Vikramaditya Motwane personally and sat down for script readings I changed my mind.
"My director convinced me that I can do it. I prepared hard for the role and used to rehearse before every shot," said Ranveer. The 27-year-old, who has previously done films like 'Band Baaja Baaraat' and 'Ladies VS Ricky Bahl', is also all praise for his co-star Sonakshi. "Sonakshi is a real performer. She is at ease and not at all stressed while acting. She is a significant actress," he added.
Motwane's previous project was 'Udaan', which was not an immediate success at the box office when released, but was eventually regarded as a cult classic. 'Lootera' will hit the theatres this Friday.
