Addressing beneficiaries of the Rajiv Yuvakiranalu scheme at Palacole in West Godavari district on the third day of Indiramma Baata, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday played the role of a “personality trainer” for youngsters.
Pointing to the prevailing competition among youth even for lower grade government jobs, he asked them not to get desperate for those jobs. “I have seen even M.Tech and Ph.d degree holders applying for lower grade posts in the revenue department. Youth should not be so obsessive about government jobs. They should settle in jobs which are suitable for their qualification. Only then can our state and country be benefited,” the chief minister said.
Recalling his personal experience as a young graduate, Reddy said that he too had not found a job after graduating in law. But, as he was a good cricketer during his college days, he got several job offers from public sector companies within a short span.
“Several banks, airlines and railways had offered me jobs in their organisations. But before I could make a choice, my father passed away. I was then compelled to join politics and continue my father’s legacy,” he said.
Advising the youth to hone their communication skills, Reddy asked the youngsters not to be satisfied with their current position but aim high and achieve more in life. But, he cautioned them not to be greedy for anything.
