New Delhi: Vidya Balan, who has won a national award for her bold act in 'The Dirty Picture', says she is enjoying her stint as an actress.
"I am enjoying my stardom. I have evolved as an actress and a human being too. I was a shy girl but now after portraying bold roles on-screen, I have become more outgoing," the 34-year-old sociology graduate says.
Vidya started her showbiz career with the popular TV series 'Hum Paanch' in the 90s and got her Bollywood break with Pradeep Sarkar's musical drama 'Parineeta'. And since then there has been no looking back.
And now she wants to do double roles. "I have played various characters so far from saucy Silk to coy Lolita and I always wanted to play double role on-screen like Hema Malini and Rekha. But, we don't have double roles for some reason in films anymore."
Vidya, who was in the capital to endorse new range of snacks from Aliva, says her dream came true with the brand's commercial where she is playing traditional 'Parineeta' look and her sexy look from 'The Dirty Picture'.
"The commercial took me back to my 'Parineeta' days. For a long time, people wanted to see me in the look of Parineeta. And they didn't think I was capable of much else. They wanted me to become a stereotype. But, I am happy that my audience have accepted my films with open arms," she adds.
The 30-second commercial for the brand's multi-grain waves will go on air from next month.
