BELGAUM: Eight among the total eleven BJP legislators representing the district have changed their loyalty from party high command as they are seen with the outgoing Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa group. As expected, Arabhavi MLA Balchandra Jarkiholi and Kagwad legislator Raju Kage have decided to back party president K S Eshwarappa group. Surprisingly, Kudachi MLA Duryodhan Aihole, who was considered one of the strong supporters of Yeddyurappa, also decided to stay with Jarkiholi. It may be recalled that Belgaum Rural MLA Sanjay Patil had recently said that all the BJP MLAs from the district, including Jarkiholi and Kage, would support the candidate the party high command selected.Ten, except Jarkiholi and Kage, were with Yeddyurappa when he was ordered by the central party leadership to resign from his post.MLA Patil had also said that though they were with Yeddyurappa they would follow the order of the high command as ‘the party was important than the person’.The stand taken by Jarkiholi and Kage against Yeddyurappa was expected as the latter had dismissed their legislative membership when they raised their voices against his leadership and had given a letter in this regard to Governor H R Bhardwaj.
