Exhibition held at city school

CHENNAI: Alpha Matriculation Higher Secondary School conducted an exhibition recently; a culmination of activities conducted by the students for the British Council’s ‘International School Award’. Students of Class 1 and 2 exhibited a variety of sub activities on the topics ‘Animals around the world’ — for Class 1 and ‘Staple food of countries around the world’- for Class 2. The sub activities included art work, collage, project work, making models of habitats, power point presentation, about animals from the chosen countries, recipes and menu chart of staple food exchanged from friends and relatives living in chosen countries. The exhibition coincided with the visit of teachers and students from Pioneer School, Singapore. They are on an exchange programme with Alpha Matriculation Higher Secondary School. This is their reciprocal visit. Students and Teachers from Alpha School visited them in April 2011. The teachers and students of Pioneer School actively participated and gave feedback. Some students and teachers tasted the staple food, from the Singapore stall and gave valuable opinions. Parents of the students also visited the exhibition and appreciated the participants wtih positive feed back.
