BANGALORE: In an effort to make this Mother’s Day interesting for expectant parents, Cryo-Save India, the family stem cell bank organised a programme, 'Avishkar’ on Saturday. Young expectant women came together at a panel discussion on topics like misconceptions related to motherhood, pregnancy fitness diet and routine, obesity during pregnancy and gestational diabetes.Cryo-Save also raised funds to aid the Project Janani, a health care project for rural women. The event, inaugurated by actress Mandira Bedi and High Court Justice Manjula Chellur, was attended by over 50 women. “I am glad I am celebrating Mother’s Day in such a heartening way. As a mother, I would suggest every woman to follow a fitness regime before and after pregnancy for a healthy mind and soul so as to acknowledge the most important phase of life with complete preparation,” Bedi said on the occasion.Obstetricians addressed the fears and misconceptions related to pregnancy and motherhood at the panel discussion, ‘Pregnancy Before and Beyond’. President of BSOG Dr Vidya said, “Motherhood is a challenging journey. As obstetricians, it is our duty to take care of mothers and help them to successfully complete this journey. This event has helped mothers gain awareness about pregnancy and childbirth.”
