BANGALORE: “We do not wish to die. But situations have forced us to die. The people whom we trusted, cheated us. So we are taking this extreme step,” were the last lines written by a chit-fund agent, who along with his family, tried to end life.Gopala Krishna, 28, a resident of Ranganathapura, Bannerghatta, attempted suicide along with his mother, sister and two cousins. While Krishna and his mother Parvathamma, 65, are battling for life, his sister Varalakshmi, 26, her children-Sinchana, 6, and Mohan Kumar, 3, died. Reportedly, Krishna had incurred financial loss in all his business ventures. Abhishek, a friend of Krishna told Express, “We used to meet every evening and Krishna used to share his financial problems with us. We always tried to cheer him up but in vain.” According to sources, Krishna, on Monday, went to Jnanabharathi at about 4 pm in the evening to meet his friend Timma Shetty. He called up Shetty and told him he would not survive for long time. Shetty, on hearing this, searched for Krishna and found him in the car. Allegedly, the doors were open and when he sneaked into the car, he found him and Parvathamma grasping for breathe, while Varalakshmi was unconscious and the children were dead. An ambulance rushed Krishna and his mother to a hospital. Allegedly, Krishna had mixed pesticides in a cool drink and the whole family consumed it.
