New Delhi: FIFA President Joseph Sepp Blatter, who was slated to be in India at the end of this month for the inauguration of AIFF's Football House in New Delhi, has posptponed his visit to the first quarter of next year.

Blatter conveyed his inability to make the visit possible shortly owing to his tight schedule in a letter to All India Football Federation Chief Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi.

"My duties until the end of the year 2006 will not give me adequate time to schedule the visit to India at the level of my expectations, its importance in light of FIFA's and AFC's ambitions for football in your country as well as the perspectives of our vision as declared in my speech to the delegates of the FIFA Congress in Munich," the Swiss said in his the letter.

He said India was one of the major countries on which FIFA was concentrating.

"Rest assured that this visit and the development of football in India remain at the top of my priorities," the FIFA President said.

Blatter has also invited an AIFF delegation to visit the FIFA Headquarters in Zurich in December to prepare for his visit to India, an AIFF release said.
