A 24-year-old man who was accused of rape in Southeast Delhi in 2018, was allegedly stabbed to death by the victim and her family, on the early hours of Sunday.
The victim was frustrated as the legal process after lodging the rape case was delayed and had thereby planned the killing, police said. The accused man, who was working as a contractual worker with Delhi Jal Board was even threatening the victim to withdraw the case, a media report quoted the officials as saying.
Following the crime, four people, including the woman, have been arrested.
A PCR call was received at around 2.52 am and the body of the man was found lying in a pool of blood outside his house. As per an Indian Express report, the man was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre but he was declared dead on arrival.
