Dr Prem, a laparoscopic surgeon at Apollo Hospitals and also director of Fusion 9, Chennai, speaks on spirituality:Perspective of godI see god in everything. I see god in my parents, in my wife when I come home after a long, tiring day, in my son’s laughter and playfulness when I am stressed out, in my colleagues during a rough day at work, the list is endless.Spiritual inclination Although I am a Hindu by religion, I am not much into pujas. I believe that it is all in the mind. God understands me and my mind anyway. Pilgrimage sites I often visit Tirupati, it feels good to be there. There is something about the whole visit and the positive vibes I receive in the place. ExperiencesVisiting places of worship like Tirupati rejuvenates me. For my parents’ 60th wedding anniversary, we visited the famous Thirukadaiyur temple, where the presiding deity is Amrthakadeswarar and his consort is Abhirami. It was a great experience for the entire family as we got together and lot of positive stuff took place after the visit.Influence from other religions or faiths Every religion has its good aspects. I like the communal feeling Christianity teaches, the family integrity of Islam and the moral values practiced by the Jews. The perfect way to live life would be to practice the best of all religions.
