Government blind to farmers plight: Congress

BANGALORE Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah accused the BJP government of failing to ensure sufficient supply of fertilisers and crop seeds to farmers who were forced to comes to the streets against the negative attitude of the state government.Addressing newsmen at his residence here on Friday, Siddaramaiah took objection to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa visiting “resting” at a resort in Kerala.Stating that in almost all parts of the state, farmers were left in the lurch following scarcity of fertiliser and crop seeds, Siddaramaiah said that “the government has turned a blind eye to the plight of sericulturists and paddy farmers demanding proper price for crops”.
