HYDERABAD: The state government is all set to employ one lakh youths on January 2, 2012. Either Prime Minister Manmohan Singh or UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi would formally hand over job letters to them.
Providing one lakh jobs on January 2 next year was a part of the state government's commitment to provide 15 lakh jobs during the next three years, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said after formally launching the 'Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu' programme at Gachibowli in Rangareddy district on Monday.Yuva Kiranalu is an employmentgeneration programme conceived by Kiran Kumar Reddy. The chief minister formally launched the programme here, which was attended by a large number of unemployed youths from Telangana districts.

Speaking on the occasion, Kiran Kumar Reddy said the state government would train the unemployed youth and later employ them in industries or in service sector. He said the first batch of trained youths would be provided employment from Jan 2 next year.

The state government is giving top priority to education and spending Rs 3,500 crore for providing education to about 27 lakh students through scholarships, he said. The chief minister later interacted with the youth and cleared their doubts on the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu programme.
