Congress MP Subodh Kant Sahay today said that Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmed has assured that he would look into the demand for "resettlement" of residents at Islam Nagar, which was raged two years ago. The former union minister led a delegation of 'Ulemas (Islamic scholars)' and met Ahmed at Raj Bhavan and placed the list of demands, including resettlement of the people who had their houses demolished during the anti-encroachment drive as per a court directive.
Sahay, who had led the protests during the anti-encroachment drive at Islam Nagar here, said the governor assured the delegation that he would look into their 20-point charter of demands, including the resettlement issue. Other members of the delegation were Maulana Siddique Mujahid, Maulana Taufiq Ahmed, Maulana Abdullah, Kazi Alimuddin, Kazi Ayub, Maulana Yusuf and Kazi Jaan Mohammad.
