BANGALORE: A party turned into a nightmare for a manager of a private firm, who not only lost Rs 70,000 during a row over a trivial issue at a bar, but was also detained by the rural police when he went to file a theft complaint.
Mahesh Kumar, Manager of Reech Logistics had gone to Viji Dhaba on Wednesday with his friends for a party. Mahesh had a tiff with the staff and in the melee he lost Rs 70,000. Mahesh later went to Nelamangala police station to file a complaint, but the police, instead of registering a complaint, detained him on the pretext of questioning.To add to his woes, the police demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 to let him off. Agitated by this, the victim sought the help of Lokayukta police who laid a trap and caught the two police constables, Girish and Jayaramu, red handed while accepting the bribe.
