Haryana Police for CBI probe into Rajbir murder case
Sources say Rajbir had given a revolver to Bhardwaj to recover money.

New Delhi: Haryana Police have recommended a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry in the murder case of Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajbir Singh.

Rajbir was killed by a property dealer Vijay Bhardwaj in Gurgaon on March 24 at about 2030 hrs IST.

Now sources have told CNN-IBN that Rajbir had given a revolver to Bhardwaj about four months ago to recover money from his real estate investments in Jaipur.

The sources also added that Bhardwaj was being used by Rajbir to recover money. Bhardwaj had reportedly run up a debt of Rs 6.5 crore and was under tremendous stress and had even attempted to commit suicide few months ago.

Police sources also claimed that Bhardwaj would invest Rajbir's money in real estate.

Reportedly Bhardwaj has also given a list of names of people to Haryana Police whose money he would invest in real estate and the amount of debt he owed to each of those mentioned in the list.

Rajbir was a frequent visitor to Bhardwaj's place and the two would often drink late into the night.

On such occasions Rajbir usually did not keep his security men with him.

Meanwhile, the police are also questioning Atul Goel of Sumangalam Constructions as to why Bhardwaj called him after killing Rajbir.
