BANGALORE: Traffic on almost all major roads in the city came to a standstill following heavy rain on Thursday evening.The city received 19.4 mm rainfall. According to BBMP control room, a tree was uprooted near RSY Park on Old Airport Road. However, no casualties or damages to property were reported till Thursday night.Complaints of water logging were received from Bapujinagar, Old Madras Road, Indiranagar, Ambedkar Layout and Old Byappanahalli, KR Circle and Silk Board Junction.Due to water clogging, traffic was affected on all major roads. Slow moving traffic was reported from Rajbhavan Road, GPO Circle, Market Junction, Magadi Road, Malleswaram Road, Avenue Road,BVK Iyengar Road,Majestic, Hudson Circle, Kempegowda Road, Nrupatunga Road, J C Road, MG Road and Brigade Road.The BBMP’s Prahari vehicles and gangmen were rushed immediately to clear the fallen trees for smooth movement of traffic.Meanwhile, moderate rainfall is expected for another two days, acording to sources in the Metrological Department.
