CHENNAI: Four special police teams are on the look out for the mastermind in the killing of a murder accused at Palavanthangal.Police said they were hunting for Thangavel, uncle of Appu alias Sandhana Kumar, a rival of Babu, who was murdered recently in Palavanthangal. ‘Bomb’ Ganesan, one of the men in the six-member gang, who chased Babu to murder him but was caught and beaten up by public, had told police that Appu’s uncle Thangavel paid him to bump off Babu. Based on the information given by Ganesan, who was hospitalised, police started their hunt for Thangavel in Tirusulum. A team’s reported trip to Tindivanam to nab Thangavel turned out to be futile. The rivalry between Appu and Christu Raj began in 2009, after a cricket match. Christu Raj, his uncle Babu (killed on Saturday) and his brother Selvam were held for murdering Appu in 2009. Later, Appu’s associates bumped off Gunalan, who was then attempting to get bail for Babu and two others. They were then waiting to finish off the arrested men. Babu, who went absconding to Coimbatore after his release from prison, returned to Tirusulum for his son’s wedding, when he was killed. Two Arrested Over Fake Credit CardTwo men, Manikandan (26) of Ambattur and Suresh of Ayanavaram, were arrested after they used a fake credit card for buying an LCD TV at a shop on K H Road on Saturday.
