Moscow: Raphael Holzdeppe of Germany won the men's pole vault Monday at the world championships, beating Olympic champion Renaud Lavillenie of France on a countback.

Bjoern Otto of Germany, the silver medalist at the London Olympics, was third after clearing 5.82 meters.
