The midday meal time is a very crucial part of the day for the students, as it ensures ample nutrient intake for better health and focus. Local18 reports about a school in West Bengal which organised a fulfilling and impressive midday meal to celebrate a student’s birthday, which included plenty of protein-rich ingredients as well as sweets.
According to the reports, the school is called the Ghughubesiya Junior High School, located on the rural side of Howrah. The headmaster of the school, Narayan Bera, hosted a Tithi Bhojan for all the students to celebrate their son’s birthday. More information states that it was organised by the Pradhan on the school premises, during the tiffin time on Wednesday. It marked the celebrations of Anamitra Bera’s seventh birthday.
The organisers curated an extensive menu for the kids, filled with several mouth-watering delicacies. It included bhetki cutlet, basanti pulau, cauliflower roast, pomfret, chicken kosha and chutney as the main course. While the assortments of desserts included payas, ice cream and paan. As per more information, the students received coloured pencils as a return gift from the school. He also gifted a wheelchair to a differently-abled student.
In a conversation with Local18, the headmaster Narayan Bera detailed that a program was launched through which one can organise a celebratory midday meal on any special occasion, called the Tithi Bhojan. So, the headmaster chose the day of his son’s birthday to carry out Tithi Bhojan.
Key members of the Panchayat were invited as guests for the day. It included BDO Sanju Guha Majumdar, Block Inspector Madhurima Das and Panchayat Samiti Education Officer Moumita Das, among many others.
The video shared by Local18 shows the students enjoying the meal together, as the staff oversaw every child was well-fed. It also showed stills from its preparation which was done with utmost hygiene and cleanliness.
