Huge land scam looms large over Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah government

Bengaluru: Another land scam is looming large over the Congress ruled Karnataka, where the state BJP is mulling over filing a case of alleged illegal de-notifications by the chief minister Siddaramaiah - however, its party leaders are yet to approach the Governor seeking permission to prosecute the chief minister.

Currently, a judicial commission set up five months back is probing the alleged de-notification of over 100 acres of land that was to be developed by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) as a housing layout named the 'Arkavathy Layout.'

The layout, planned nearly 11 years ago during the fag end of SM Krishna led Congress government, has been at the centre of much controversy with successive chief ministers over the last few years allegedly de-notifying large tracts of it illegally.

The Chief Minister has so far only said he has only re-modified plans and not let go of government land. The Opposition BJP in Karnataka now says it has readied documents to prove that chief minister Siddaramaiah has committed major illegalities in letting go 119 acres of prime land in this area that falls on the Bangalore airport highway. It's also gearing up to attack the ruling Congress ahead of the upcoming Assembly session from February 2.

State BJP president and MP Prahlad Joshi said, "what ever the documents were to be traced that has been done by BJP, what ever the legal points which are to be formulated by the documents it as been done now and Some of the individuals have taken up the issue. As far as my information goes, so some them have approached his Excellency, we are awaiting the information and am not spokes person for them but still the information what am having, whatever the documents and legal assistance and legal framework we are already created with that some people have approached governor office, this is what I have the information. Governor's appointment to receive those documents is awaited".

He add that the BJP's opinion of legal cells is that its very good case for prosecution and they are proceeding accordingly. He said "most of the documents are in public domain. What ever we gave out to you people, apart from that we have traced out few more documents and that are with activists who want to fight out the corruption".

What's your reaction?
