For a man who just ended his career after being 21 years at the helm of tennis, Andre Agassi wore his emotions at the sleeve of his shirt every time he went out to play. He gave an exclusive interview to CNN’s Larry King. Agassi speaks about his life after tennis. Excerpts from the interview:
Larry King: We see a necklace around your neck. What is this? Looks like little blocks that spell out what?
Andre Agassi: My son made it for me. It says "daddy rocks", that’s what he wanted to say, some words I aspire to.
Larry King: He made it for you? You wore it when you played?
Andre Agassi: He did. I have, I haven’t taken it off since he gave it to me.
Larry King: An e-mail from Donna from Florida. And it is: "How often do you play tennis with Steffi? And how many times has she beaten you?
Andre Agassi: Well, we do play tennis. We are going to play a lot more than we have been able to. Most of the time, I’m the one working and she is sort of done with that stage. But she beats me every time because the key to tennis is you have to watch the ball. And I’m not watching the ball.
Larry King: How good is she?
Andre Agassi: She’s great, arguably the greatest athlete in the last 100 years. She’s an amazing athlete.
