BANGALORE: Goldman Sachs launched “10,000 Women”, a global initiative that increases the number of under-served women entrepreneurs receiving business and management education. The programme includes 19 days of classroom instruction interspersed with on-the-job application and mentoring support. Business (ISB), Hyderabad is the academic partner for the 10,000 Women initiative in India. AIMS is the local delivery partner for ISB in conducting the programme in Bangalore.A new batch will begin from January, 2012, after the tremendous response to the first course and good feedback from those who attended the course. The last date of receipt of applications is December 10, 2011.The programme is spread over three months. Across India over 350 cohorts have graduated. They have reported significant growth in their businesses. The objective of the programme is to provide under-served business women with a business and management education. Participants shall not be charged any fee, either for the education or for the facilities. AIMS has successfully completed Batch I of 30 cohorts and the graduation day was held on November 10.“I take back significant lessons from the course and the need to rework my business plan,” said a participant of the previous batch.“The programme covered many things which I was unaware of.
