The Toy Train service in Cooch Behar’s Narendra Narayan Park was halted for a long time.

Narendra Narayan Park is a botanical garden located in Cooch Behar town of West Bengal. The park was established in 1894 and was named after the ruler of the princely state of Cooch Behar, Shri Narendra Narayan. It is one of the traditional parks that has been in existence since the royal period as a result it attracts a lot of tourists. To ensure more footfall, the toy train service has been resumed in the park for entertainment. The Toy Train service in Cooch Behar’s Narendra Narayan Park was halted for a long time. Now, the services have been resumed once again to attract tourists. Generally, during Durga Puja, the park has many tourists here. The train service will mark it as yet another attraction.

Jaydev Sarkar, a tourist, visiting the park, in an interview with Local18 shared, “There is a Toy Train service only in this park in the district. Once there was a toy train in the open Eco-Park, but that is not functional for a long time now.” He added that hence children and adults come to Narendra Narayan Park for enjoyment and to ride the Toy Train. What further makes this an attraction is that kids love the train rides and it costs just Rs 20 per person making the whole experience a delightful one.

Kanu Chowdhury and Sangeeta Das, two other tourists visiting the park, said that the old park of the district remains the centre of attraction for tourists. It is located right in the middle of the district town. They further claimed that the park provides immense fun and entertainment to kids because of the resumption of the Toy Train services. They feel that the park authorities should continue the service in the near future as well.

Abhijit Nag, the Range Officer of the Park said that the Toy Train services were halted as some parts of the train were broken and had to be fixed. As Durga Puja is just around the corner, the service has resumed.
