KOCHI: ‘Tata Consultancy Services IT Wiz 2011’ Kerala regional finals was held in Gokulam Convention Centre on Friday. The quiz included questions from various fields in the IT sector especially internet, web sites, IT buzzwords and acronyms.Karthik Prakash Nair and Advait Shankar J from Loyola School, Thiruvananthapuram emerged as winners at the competition. They will now represent Kerala in the finale of the TCS IT Wiz which will be held at Chennai on December.Commander-in-chief Vice Admiral K N Sushil distributed the prices to the winners. I was thrilled at the sheer energy displayed by the students during the competition,” said Sushil.Six schools among the 110 teams which had participated in the competition made it to the final rounds.As part of their mementos, the winners and participants were awarded galaxy tablets, ipods, headphones, portable speakers, USB pen drives and laser pointers.According to TCS IT Wiz Quiz reports, Kochi was the first and only city in India so far to have received almost 70 per cent of registration online from across Kerala state.Presently regional rounds are being held at other 11 cities including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Pune, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Lucknow, Delhi and Mumbai. The 12 city winners who make it to the national finals will also have dinner with TCS CEO N Chandrasekaran.
