The environment minister says the builders of the temple did not apply for clearance.
New Delhi: Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh says the Akshardham temple in Delhi never had environmental clearance. Ramesh said that the builders of the temple did not apply for the environmental clearance.
The temple has been built on the Yamuna riverbed.
He has also questioned the clearance given to the Commonwealth Games village.
The minister further suggested the Commonwealth Games village may have got environmental clearance which was upheld by the Supreme Court but it should not have got the clearance.
