New Delhi: Pooja Bhatt's 'Jism 2' had a strong buzz going for it for days, especially around the sensual Sunny Leone who makes her debut in Bollywood with the erotic thriller. The trailer and song promos on YouTube showed her as a woman wielding her sex appeal to trap an assassin who also happens to be her ex-lover.
The huge posters of 'Jism 2' have donned billboards for months showing a seductive Leone, an Indo-Canadian adult entertainment star, pouting seductively in sheer negligee. The songs are already a hit.
On Thursday at the Delhi premiere of 'Jism 2', Mahesh Bhatt said the film has opened to packed halls in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, Jalgaon in Maharashtra and Jalandhar in Punjab. The film was released on 1700 screens across the country and is expected to pull in the Friday audience especially at centres with single screens. 'Jism 2' had a paid preview on Thursday.
On Friday, according to information posted by users on Twitter, the film opened to packed halls in Bhopal as well.
"You make a good movie and hope word of mouth to take it further," said Dino Morea, the co-producer of 'Jism 2'. Morea said producers need not feel the pressure from films that have crossed Rs 100 crore nett because there was space for everyone in the industry.
"Today it's mostly a three or four day game, the more number of theatres the more amount of money," he said. Jism 2 is directed by Pooja Bhatt and stars Sunny Leone, Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh in the lead roles.
