Austria: Joost Luiten of the Netherlands carded a 5-under 67 on Saturday to extend his lead at the Lyoness Open to three strokes and put himself in contention for his second European Tour title.
Carrying a one-stroke lead overnight, Luiten bogeyed two of his first five holes but recovered with seven birdies, including three in a row from the 15th, to sit at 16-under 200. He is three strokes clear of Spanish pair Jorge Campillo (66) and Eduardo de la Riva (69).
"I like to be in front," said Luiten, whose previous title came at the Iskandar Johor Open in 2011. "Before I won in Malaysia, I had been up there a couple of times but I couldn't finish it off."
Thomas Bjorn of Denmark shot a 64 to join Romain Wattel of France (69) at 11 under. Bjorn, eyeing a third top-10 finish in his last four events, scored an outward 30 including an eagle on the par-four 12th.
Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain (69) and Paul Waring of England (72) were another stroke back in sixth.
Defending champion Bernd Wiesberger had three bogeys on his back nine for a 72 and was 11 strokes off the pace. The Austrian dropped to 29th, lowering his chance of reaching the top 10, which could earn him a starting berth for next week's U.S. Open.
"My putting wasn't what it should be," Wiesberger said.
