Kanpur: AI flight skids while landing, all safe

New Delhi: An Air India flight skidded while landing on the Kanpur airport at 12:50 pm on Wednesday. The flight IC 9801 from Delhi to Kolkata via Kanpur skidded as there was heavy rains in the city.

The runway was reportedly wet which may have been the cause for the plane to skid.

All 59 passengers plus crew members are reported to be are safe and have de-boarded the flight.

Celebrated author Chetan Bhagat, who was on the flight, tweeted that he was safe.

"The plane wheels are barely visible, dug deep into mud. Everyone's out now. Rattled but safe. Thanks all for ur concern," he tweeted.
