The white turtle was found by a man named Shivarama Krishna Bhatta from Gokarna, Karnataka. It was discovered by him during the Covid-19 pandemic. Shivarama is an avid animal lover. He has chosen to keep the white turtle at his own home named Shanti Residency, located near the Kudle Beach. It has now turned into a great attraction for tourists who come to visit the place. According to Shivarama, this turtle is a form of Lord Vishnu. The video captured by the Local18 team shows the turtle resting in a freshwater pool. Interestingly, the turtle’s shell is brown in colour, while the body within is white and pink hued. The turtle’s white colour is believed to be due to lack of sunlight.

Named Cloud, the turtle is part of the green sea turtle species. Unfortunately for the cloud, it suffered from numerous health conditions. Surviving all odds, it is still alive and weighs 16 kg.
Turtles are reptiles characterised by their hard, bony shell. The upper shelled part is known as the carapace, while the underside is known as the plastron. Turtles found on land tend to be herbivorous while the ones living in water are more carnivorous by nature. Their diet includes plants or tiny animals with limited movements like mollusks, worms, and insect larvae. One of their main characteristics also include the lack of agility and speed. Currently, there are around 360 living species of turtles. They can be found on most countries and Islands.
