New Delhi: Afghan President Hamid Karzai arrived here on Sunday night on a two-day visit during which the security of Indian assets and workers in Afghanistan is expected to figure prominently in his discussions in the wake of the terror attack on Indian embassy in Kabul.

Karzai will hold talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday during which he is likely to give details regarding the attack for which Pakistan's ISI has been blamed.

Karzai is also expected to apprise Singh about his discussion with Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in Colombo over the Kabul attack issue.

Both Afghanistan and India have blamed ISI for the attack on Indian embassy on July 7 citing intelligence inputs and intercepts.

Singh on Saturday conveyed India's concerns over the incident to Gilani who promised to hold an investigation to ascertain whether or not his country's military intelligence agency was involved.

After the attack on the embassy in which India lost four nationals including a Brigadier-rank defence attache and a senior IFS officer, a major review of security of Indian assets and personnel was undertaken at the official level.

New Delhi believes that the Taliban in association with ISI is targeting Indian assets and workers in Afghanistan to force India out of the country.

The official-level assessment of threat and ways to deal with the situation is expected to be deliberated upon during the talks Singh will have with Karzai.

India is engaged in a large number of reconstruction projects worth $750 million covering road construction, power plants, telecommunication and capacity building.

The talks would also converge on India's reconstruction and developmental activities in Afghanistan.
