Chennai: Over 20,000 people, including runners from Kenya, would participate in the Temenos Chennai Marathon to be held on February 5.
The event is organised by Rotary International District 3230 in association with Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu and will have full marathon for men, whereas women would run half marathon.
The event, which began in 2001, offers a prize money of Rs 10 lakhs, the release added.
The full marathon will be run over 42.2 kms and the half marathon over 21.1 kms with the winners receiving Rs 2.2 lakh and Rs 1.1 lakh, respectively.
A host of Kenyan runners -- Azyoka Maku, Joshat Ngila Ndeti, Ambrose, Patrick Muchemi Wairegiz in men and Jane Mwikali Muia and Agnes Katunge Mutune in women -- would take part in the event and they will be the fovourites to take the top honours at the Marathon.

Men: Chinappa, Nathuram, Surender, Pula Ram, Deepchand (services), Soji Mathew, BS Lone, RB Singh (Railways), KC Ram and Sandeep (MP), Jagannath (UP) and Ratesh (Kerala).
Women: Reena Das (Bengal), H Sangi Devi(MP), Indresh Devi(UP), Neelamma (Railways) and Parvathy, Geeta Rani and Shanthi Devi (Delhi).
